Buyer Rewards

Important Distinctions! Part I

Buyer Rewards may be an attractive way to incentivize sales and build a shopping community around your products and offerings. Rewarding a buyer with points is a common methodology for achieving this aim however many shoppers are no longer interested in accumulating "points" if the mechanism for redeeming those points is not clear and/or complicated. Our research has shown that buyers are more likely to make a purchase based on rewards that are immediately redeemable rather than rewards that must be accumulated before they can be redeemed although both methods are a net positive depending on the marketing that drove them to the point of sale.**

Buyer Rewards are not DEFI

  • ** Consumers may fail to convert to a Buyer if the marketing which drove (navigated) them to the point of sale overstated or misstated buyer rewards in which case the customer may interpret the lead generation or marketing as deceptive and fail to convert to a completed transaction where they may have otherwise converted if not led by the promise of rewards.
